Saturday

Today I posted a bunch of short course material under the heading of Pitney Bowes where I gave a short course some time ago. Some of the material is more refined than others, but most of the files can be used for s one hour presentation, perhaps with some amplification and discussion. Again I should stress that I am an advocate of the flipped classroom having experienced large classes (>200) with students at the back either talking or sleeping. They take the handouts and textbooks home and study for the exam. The traditional lecture is moribund, anachronistic, vestigial, a waste of time. Students learn. Professors guide. The Internet is the greatest tool that ever happened for the world of education (learning). Professor, heal thyself.
